The Legend of Alon D'ar

Platform: PS2

Release: 2001

Position: QA Lead

After the completion of Championship Surfer I was placed in a lead role again on the Alon D'ar project. This project was slow to develop at first and even though I was the QA Lead there were no actual testers for some months. For me this was a bit of a boon. Though I was spending my time playing development builds and reading design documents to start the creation of the test plans, there was a request from the developers to have some additional help from the us, the publisher.

My First Design Gig

This time was rather interesting because I had no test team. But because I had proven to be a valuable and skilled asset my producers asked if I could work on site with the developers while we waited for testing to begin. It's funny to think that this is actually the first time I worked as a developer of a video game. Something that I would not get to revisit for another few years.

For several months I worked in-house at the Stormfront Studios office. Though not a huge role I spent my days pasting dialog into dialog trees with the in game editors and working with the design team to implement quests.

Once we started to receive test builds I returned to the publishers office and thing proceeded as normal.
